Never ASSUME

Just writing a quick update on my day, I’ve just been out canvassing to some local businesses and had some great results…

A local gym are interested in me doing some work for them, we spoke about the importance of Social Media and how they would be interested in me promoting the group for them. We also spoke about doing some email marketing & tele marketing and how they would like me to create a DVD for them to use as a promotional tool and help them to promote a NEW TV channel they are putting together.

I then went on to a local Bed & Sofa supplier, been in my local village for 31 years have some fantastic repeat business with Estate Agency’s but the BIGGEST problem they had … NO ONLINE PRESENCE, they are interested in me creating a Website for them, Good Times.

But the BIGGEST RESULT of the day has to come from O’Briens Coffee shop …

I was standing in the cue waiting to order my regular cappuccino and the manager see one of my flyers in my hand advertising my Marketing services. She says “are you here to see me”, no I replied just wanted a cappuccino, unless you want me to help with your marketing I said.

She said, “funny enough, our last marketing company let us down and now we dont use any one. I’ll take your letter and speak to the Director of this Branch, I’m sure he will be interested specially as your local.”

Result I thought…

So what did I get out of today, well all though I’ve been selling for 14 years and I’ve always told my staff NEVER to ASSUME, I done exactly that. I assumed because O’Briens is a BIG name they wouldn’t be interested in my company. I’m not saying I’m guaranteed the business but what I am saying is no matter how big the company is GET YOURSELF IN FRONT THEM it makes a BIG difference and boy does it make you feel good.
